Alaska Pacific University is more than just a place for students. We have a lot to offer to the community too. Each year, our campus hosts thousands of people from Anchorage and the surrounding area who attend community events, concerts, meetings and conferences, or utilize our athletic facilities and world-class trails. For example, APU's Moseley Center offers a variety of services, courses and clinics to the public at extremely reasonable prices. The Grant Hall Theater hosts the Sitka Summer Music Festival and other concerts each year, and First Friday openings for art exhibits take place in Grant Hall and the Carr Gottstein Building. Plus, our campus plays host to yearly events such as the Heart Run, the Alaska Sea Kayak Symposium, Earth Day celebrations and more.

Feeling Sporty?

The Moseley Sports Center offers the following facilities and activities to the community:

Aquatic Center

• 25 yard and four feet deep saline-based swimming pool with six lap lanes.
• Swim lessons for adults and children, water aerobics, open swim and more are offered throughout the year.

Indoor Facilities

• Gymnasium
• Rock Climbing Wall
• Free Weights, Weight-lifting Machines and Aerobic Machines
• Health, Fitness and Exercise Programs

Outdoor facilities

• Soccer field
• Outdoor acitivities equipment rental - canoes, kayaks, camping and climbing equipment
• im Mahaffey Trail System through approximately 300 acre campus, connecting to the Anchorage Trail System

Great Trips and Instructional Classes are offered to you through the Outdoor Program.

• Participate in a Sea Kayak Roll Clinic and guided sea kayak trips.
• Learn to Skate ski, or rock climbing.
