Join the Alumni Leadership Circle

AMU and APU graduates fulfill important leadership roles in communities throughout the world, and are often publicly recognized for their work. Without a doubt, our alumni are making a significant difference in their communities and chosen professions.

However, another important role you can play is as an active and generous alumnus of your alma mater.

Alaska Pacific University needs our alumni leaders in the community and business world to also serve as leaders in giving back financially. In doing so, you will not only help APU to continue providing a world-class education to its students, you will also serve as an example of generosity to other alumni who might be motivated to give as a result of your involvement.

The Alumni Leadership Circle was established to recognize those AMU and APU Alumni that are leaders in the community or their professions, as well as in their financial support of Alaska Pacific University.

Please consider becoming a member of the Alumni Leadership Circle by making your gift of $500 today. Alumni who already give at the $500 level or above are automatically members.

Leadership Circle members will receive special member-only benefits, and will be publicly recognized as leaders in giving to Alaska Pacific University. But even more importantly, your gift will help to ensure the current and future successes of the university and its students.

The leaders of today helping the leaders of tomorrow -- now that's a great example.

Harry & Elisabeth Kachline

Harry and Elisabeth Kachline, originally from Pennsylvania, arrived in Anchorage in 1967 when Harry's United States Air Force orders took them to Elmendorf Air Force Base.

Both are alumni of Alaska Pacific University. Harry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine and Performing Arts in 1993 and received his Master of Liberal Arts in 2002. Elisabeth graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and received her Master of Arts in Pacific Rim Studies in 2001. Elisabeth has worked for the Anchorage School District for the past 12 years, teaching third through fifth grades at Muldoon Elementary School.

Elisabeth is a Charter Member of the APU President's Forum and both she and Harry are members of APU's Denali Society. Both Harry and Elisabeth love photography, (which is evident in their current showing of photographs on campus). In addition Elisabeth is also passionate about teaching, traveling and tatting, while Harry enjoys woodcarving and gardening.

Harry and Elisabeth have two children--Rob, who lives in Anchorage, and Ellen Kachline Hursh, also an APU alumna (1990), who lives in Urbana, Illinois with her husband Tony.

Photo: "Turn Left" by Elisabeth Kachline is one of the spectacular photographs included in Harry and Elisabeth Kachline's exhibit on display now in Grant Hall, on APU Campus. Their photographs will be on exhibit until December 1, 2006.
